CoWare Introduces Management Team for Its New SPW Business Unit; Recently Transferred from Cadence Design Systems, SPW Business Extends CoWare's System-Level Design Leadership

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2003--CoWare(R) Inc., the leading supplier of system-level electronic design automation (EDA) software, today announced the formation of the management team for its new Signal Processing Worksystem (SPW) business unit. Leading the SPW business is vice president and general manager Isaac Sundarajan, former vice president of product operations for CoWare. Joining Sundarajan are Mark Creamer, vice president of worldwide sales, and Eshel Haritan, vice president of engineering. The SPW business was transferred to CoWare earlier this month from Cadence Design Systems (NYSE:CDN) as part of a system-level design (SLD) and verification-focused strategic alliance between the companies.

Several of the executives on the CoWare team, including CoWare president and CEO Alan Naumann, are SPW veterans. Naumann was previously general manager of the Alta Group, which managed SPW within Cadence. Creamer and Haritan both joined CoWare with the transfer of SPW, having developed and sold SPW for ten years and seven years, respectively.

"SPW has found the perfect home here at CoWare, led by a team that has a great history with the product," said Naumann. "We are pleased to welcome Eshel and Mark and our other new employees in the SPW group. Isaac's deep understanding of SLD and experience managing product and field operations for CoWare make him the perfect choice to lead the SPW business unit. He will ensure the integration of SPW with CoWare's existing products and the Cadence Incisive product line, to provide maximum value to our customers."

"With the DSP, wireless and multimedia markets experiencing growth and with our focus on developing the next generation SPW product, we are well poised to extend CoWare's leadership in the ESL market," said Sundarajan. "This is the first time SPW has been part of a product portfolio where it fits perfectly with the other products -- namely CoWare ConvergenSC and LISATek -- as well as part of a channel that can truly support it to drive adoption of SLD. SPW has a tremendous, loyal user base that would like to expand its usage. To address this, CoWare will continue to aggressively invest in the SPW technology and architecture, and will be rolling out a roadmap and enhanced product soon. We have the right team to do this now."
